Woman Writers

I do believe female writers are different from male writers. But then again i believe all writers are different from each other. This is because each individual writer has there own type of writing style. Granted some are better than others, each different writing is unique and special. I believe this is a good thing because there are different types of readers. I do not believe it matters if the writer is male or female. As long as its a good book i will read it.

Edith Wharton Facts

1. She was a Pulitzer Prize winning novelist.

2. She was acquainted with Henry James and Theodore Roosevelt.

3. She was in " the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles"

4. She loved to travel, and was more privileged at times than others in the places that she went, because of her many connections.

5. Aside from many respected novels, she also wrote many short stories. Her most famous are her ghost stories.

Vocab Story

Of all the barrios in San Jose there was one hacienda that stood out from all. It had a palmetto in the front yard with a lasso and a tire hanging off of it. In the house lived a grandee who was a torero in his spare time. He is very antediluvian, in the sense that he is always consistent. For example diurnal, he always goes out to his front porch at 3 o'clock and takes a siesta. He is never late to this. he pretty much keeps to himself, and because of this rumors are around him. Some say he was an ex FBI agent, others say he is a desperado, and others say he is a renegade from another countries government. All in all I believe he's just another run of the mill guy who's just enjoying life after retirement.

The WTO is an organization on trading all over the world.

They were protesting that only the rich countries get a say and not the smaller ones in the trading affaires. Even though the president says that everyone gets a fair chance and a say in it.

thoreau's view of technology

He doesn't really like it. he apposes it, thinks it lays waste.

I do disagree with him. Technology, today, helps us with our daily lives in a very significant way.

Advantages to tech would be help in a lot of ways, also to communicate. Disadvantages would be that it pollutes a lot, it could be difficult and stressful at times.

Common tech i use everyday would be my phone, and computer. If we go down deeper, i use the toilet, shower, refridgerator, microwave, stove, and mainly lights thus electricity.

i honestly do not think i would survive a day without technology. haha

1. What is the hosts view of Thoreau? He believes that thoreau is very important, and that some of his writings are the founding scriptures of many things today.

2. What is Kathryn Todds view of Thoreau? She respects his ideas and philosophies but she has her own ideas. For example, she feel he is selfish at times, and takes his mind off of the real point.

3. What are the advantages of living your life like Thoreau's? Many would look up to you, you would have the ability to make other people like you, to think by themselves for themselves.

4. What are the disadvantages? Many would not like you, other would not like you enough to do bad things and try and make you shut up. You might have a cause and effect situation were you cause something bad to happen.

Civil Disobedience

I am not aware of most actions the government does do..... so i guess i would not like the fact that sometimes the government release certain subjects that are important, or on a need to know basis. i cant think of any ways to stop there banning but to ask them to stop it. I wouldn't go to jail or speak in front of a large group of people while my life is at danger, so no.... i guess i wouldn't use any of the ideas of martin luther or henry david.

Zach likes them because they were a different sort of people in there time that didn't follow other people, but were leaders themselves. They stood up like mavericks to thier own kind and made a difference in history.

English Binder Check

1. Yes according to what i have, and the date.

2. We've done many Vocabulary assignments mainly, and tests as well. This english class is different from other classes because it has a much faster pace and its more social than other classes. For example, we have many group projects that let us communicate with each other and work and learn with each other as well. There isn't much to compare between other classes as this one is pretty unique other than the fact that it is really fun.

3. Throughout the year i've learned many new words far expanding my vocabulary. As well as gained more skill in public speaking and socializing. I learned this from all the presentations we did and the work we all did together as group.

1. Books are banned for many reasons. Reasons such as it is not appropriate, or the government feels its exposing to much, it may break the certain rules of certain books. Sometimes books are banned for ridiculous reasons by the government many of which we are uncertain of the reasons or the reasons seem farfetched and assume its the governments way of covering something up, or keeping the public from learning of its action.

2. Science fiction is a type of genre that depicts stories that are not true and or is made up. It comes from the authors open imagination. Science fiction novels are widely recognized as being some of the best books to read because of the fact that they have limitless possibilities.Some great authors are Stephen King, J.K. Rowling

3. ..........Bradbury's writing style is very unique and detailed in a way that makes many inatimate objects come alive much like Walt Disney's writing style. Although Bradbury's has a rather darker mood in his stories, and some take place more in the future. The figurative writing style is used widely in many of his books, such as..... Arthur Miller's books does not really differ from Bradbury's in the sense that there both dark and mysterious in a way. There's also many twists and turns in the story such as when

OOPS!

a couple days ago i learned how to do the blog. And i still havent been doing it. im pretty sure ive failed the blogging partof this school year so far. but now i hav a computer. and now i am gong to do it. its all coming together

Today i stayed home from school..... i am sick. My head feels like its swelling, and my nose burns like hell, and my eyes cant concentrate on anything. In fact I'm having a really hard time typing this. i Barely got up like 10 minutes ago. Anyway, i wonder what all my friends at school are thinking. I personally HATE getting sick. It makes me feel incapable of doing anything. Because i cant. I also don't like returning to school not know anything our teachers are talking about. Its like we skipped 3 days of school when it was actually only one. My foot is doing better i guess.... i still cant bend it. and I'm pretty sure i did crack my bone... AGAIN...

I broke my foot at practice today. Not very happy about that. The day was really good too. But i tohought about it, then i realized watever doesnt kill me gets me stronger. I just hope i can get better before soccer season starts. then i would be really pissed. Other than that today was pretty regular. It went by pretty fast though.

today was freaking ridiculous. im so confused. And im beat. other than a few things today was pretty smooth. it was good up until a point then it just went downhill. i reeeally dont want to talk about it.

Ok, so today is my 7 month anniversary with my girlfriend Michelle. She cant celebrate today because she has a volleyball game, but i wasn't mad at all, i just decided some other time.The thought of having a 7th month anniversary was pretty cool. although something else was in the air that made me really joyous today. II'm not sue how to explain it, but it was good. so i obviously started today with a pretty big smile and a chip of my shoulder. i had already decided yesterday that i was going run today after school. so i did. i just came back, and II'm pretty burnt.But other than that today was pretty cool. Better than most days. i laughed more and chilled more with friends. it was pretty swell.

today was pretty slow, but fast if that makes any sense. Classes today were pretty tiring. As soon as i got home i took a nap. i woke up for a short period of time to write this, then just crashed again.

I barely woke up. And this is my first blog. Today i hope im goin to see my sister and littler brothers and sisters. Right now though i really want to eat. After that i am probably going to Gtown to train.
